Proud Momma at the Pumpkin Patch!
I took Myka to a pumpkin patch today and got some adorable pictures. The best came when Myka decided to do her very first GIG 'EM! I couldn't believe it, but here it is, check out that thumb! Too bad she is dressed in orange (maybe that's what she was thinking!)

First Halloween Costume!
We went to THSD's Halloween Carnival this weekend. Myka looked absolutely priceless as a hula girl, but she wasn't too keen on the carnival. In public, she is usually a big flirt with strangers, but instead she was a rather somber hula girl! So, we dressed her up again Sunday when she was in good spirits and got some happy shots of the cutest hula girl ever!!
Big thanks to Pat (aka Na Na) for getting the grass skirts and leis for us!

Bad Blogger
I haven't blogged in a while, so I thought I would just give a bit of a general update. Myka is quite mobile now, she pulls up and gets very tickled with herself about it, it's her favorite thing to do right now, and she likes to practice walking with a bit of help of course :) Crawling still frustrates her, if she had a bit more patience she would be cruising away by now, but she will only try for a short time before having a little Myka meltdown on the floor.
She has always had quite the frowny face, but she went through a two week spell where she was giving just about everyone she encountered very extreme versions of her pout for no apparant reason. A sample is below, but the picture doesn't really do her face justice.
Myka's Nana and Grandpaw came to visit a few weeks ago, we have been to Dallas a couple of times so she's had more Maw Maw, Aunt Paula and Misti time too. I go to Phoenix on Wednesday, but plan to be home after that and keep up with the blogging better :)
Whew, that lemon is tart!
Proud of her standing action!
Infamous pouty lip!
Cuddling with Na Na
Hangin' w/ Grandpaw
A sucker!! Shame, shame Aunt Paula!

Myka Rocks The House!!!!
Well, we left Myka home alone today for several hours. I guess we should have known better, as she is only 6 months old, but, hey, we ARE first time parents. Anyway, when we came back home, Myka had somehow climbed up into the attic and brought my guitar down to her room. She really rocks! Maybe she will be a big star someday. I love her as much as she LOVES Rock N Roll!

Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba!! Say it loud and proud!!
We have our first babbling!! I heard her make B sounds for the first time a couple of days ago, and maybe once yesterday. Today it came on full force. I woke up to Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba, and she did not stop all day. She is thoroughly impressed with herself and in true Myka style, she's quite loud about it! I got some good video, but don't know how to edit it, so hopefully Jimmy will get it up soon :)
First Aggie Football Game
First Real Eating!!
YAY! Finally after weeks of trying, Myka decided participate in this whole eating food thing. Until now she has remained very sceptical and unconvinced of its necessity, spitting out the vast majority of anything I managed to slip past her sweet little lips. But last night, on our fourth peaches attempt- success! She opened up and ate several bites willingly. She kept it up today, with the peaches at least (bananas and cereal still rejected!)
Teething Baby on a Plane
I'm pretty sure that's up there with Snakes on a Plane in regard to unpleasantness!! Myka and I flew to visit my family in Tulsa over Labor Day Weekend. No sleep before our early flight because we had a rough night followed by a rough flight (my apologizes to the other Southwest passengers!) That afternoon I noticed fever, congestion, cough, all followed by the apprearance of her first tooth (bottom right) on Sunday. Needless to say, she was extra high maintenance most of our getaway and thoroughly exhausted her Maw Maw and myself- Aunt Paula was still going strong!
Laughing at the mall with Aunt Paula!
We still enjoyed ourselves of course, and a highlight for Myka was going to cousin Karen's to meet the horses. She was thrilled, as excited as she gets about meeting new dogs. She loved it when the horses would sniff her and she could feel their breath.

From The Editor...
Myka has learned to perform her new favorite trick- Blowing a Raspberry. Wikipedia defines this as "to make a noise signifying derision (and/or silliness), made by sticking out the tongue between the lips and blowing to make a sound reminiscent of flatulence". Myka defines her newly discovered activity as making a slobbery mess all over Mommy and Daddy. She really laughs at herself and then we all laugh together as a family. What a joy to see & hear the contagious giggle of my beautiful daughter. This is what its all about!

Weekend with the Phifers
We had a wonderful weekend with Jody, Dan and Dylan. We spent much of it laughing at how different Dylan and Myka are. As many of you know, Myka is anything but calm, she is a bit like a roller coaster- lots of highs and lows. There is laughing, crying, smiling, screaming, bouncing, pulling, pinching, swiping and, of course, very loud yelling (in both pleasure and anguish!) Sweet Dylan is her polar opposite. He lies calmly wherever he is placed, he seems to have deep inner peace and to be quietly contemplating the meaning of life. They are physically opposite as well, Myka with her dark hair and eyes, round and full from all angles. Dylan is light complected with the most beautiful crystal blue eyes, his body long and lean. The one thing they do share is a striking resemblance to their fathers. Of course, Jody and I are both thrilled with the baby we ended up with, and how blessed I feel to have Jody to share in this overwhelming motherhood experience. Jody and Becky B/F/F!
Thanks for the matching outfits Glenna!
Holding Hands, so sweet!
"Enough Dylan, you're hogging the camera!"
"What do you mean it's not all about me?!"
Check out the handsome boy!
"Thanks for the hat Dylan, I think it's me!"

First Cereal Today
Date Night
So, Jimmy and I had our first date night since Myka was born tonight. We are so grateful to our friends Erin, Debbie and Hank Randall for taking on the task of babysitting our high maintenance girl. Jimmy and I had a wonderful time, but I could hear the crying as I approached their door- sorry guys!! What a little mess she is!
