Myka Rocks The House!!!!

Well, we left Myka home alone today for several hours. I guess we should have known better, as she is only 6 months old, but, hey, we ARE first time parents. Anyway, when we came back home, Myka had somehow climbed up into the attic and brought my guitar down to her room. She really rocks! Maybe she will be a big star someday. I love her as much as she LOVES Rock N Roll!

Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba!! Say it loud and proud!!

We have our first babbling!! I heard her make B sounds for the first time a couple of days ago, and maybe once yesterday. Today it came on full force. I woke up to Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba, and she did not stop all day. She is thoroughly impressed with herself and in true Myka style, she's quite loud about it! I got some good video, but don't know how to edit it, so hopefully Jimmy will get it up soon :)

First Aggie Football Game

We all watched the Aggies beat New Mexico State on Saturday. Myka showed her spirit through her bow choice of course. I forgot to mention that Paula taught me how to make bows during our Labor Day trip, and of course in the process she made Myka several new ones- Thanks Paula!

First Real Eating!!

YAY! Finally after weeks of trying, Myka decided participate in this whole eating food thing. Until now she has remained very sceptical and unconvinced of its necessity, spitting out the vast majority of anything I managed to slip past her sweet little lips. But last night, on our fourth peaches attempt- success! She opened up and ate several bites willingly. She kept it up today, with the peaches at least (bananas and cereal still rejected!)

Teething Baby on a Plane

I'm pretty sure that's up there with Snakes on a Plane in regard to unpleasantness!! Myka and I flew to visit my family in Tulsa over Labor Day Weekend. No sleep before our early flight because we had a rough night followed by a rough flight (my apologizes to the other Southwest passengers!) That afternoon I noticed fever, congestion, cough, all followed by the apprearance of her first tooth (bottom right) on Sunday. Needless to say, she was extra high maintenance most of our getaway and thoroughly exhausted her Maw Maw and myself- Aunt Paula was still going strong!

Laughing at the mall with Aunt Paula!

We still enjoyed ourselves of course, and a highlight for Myka was going to cousin Karen's to meet the horses. She was thrilled, as excited as she gets about meeting new dogs. She loved it when the horses would sniff her and she could feel their breath.
